In the meantime, the Genmitsu PROVerXL 4030 V2 CNC router has already produced a large amount of chips and I’ve learned to handle the CNC CNCComputerized Numerical Control – computer-controlled milling machine. In the hobby sector often a gantry router (e.g. Genmitsu PROVerXL 4030) for milling wood, plastic and aluminum. Controlled via G-code from CAM software router. The results are consistently very good and precise. However, the router alone is not enough, because for really good results (and little dust), you also need to invest in accessories. So far, I’ve bought the following accessories for the Genmitsu PROVerXL 4030 V2 CNC router:
My milling bits
Although a nice set of different milling bits is included, I also use the following models.

For practically all wood milling, especially for the French Cleat holders, this end mill is used. The service life of the bits is exceptionally good and I’m still using the first bit, even though it has already covered many milling paths.
A very good selection of different bits is offered by the end mill set from Genmitsu. Here you’ll also find ball nose bits for chamfers, curves or 3D milling. These bits too - or at least the ones I’ve used from it so far - show no signs of wear even after many milling operations, and CNC beginners in particular don’t have to be annoyed at this price if a bit breaks or is accidentally rammed into the workpiece.
For engravings and especially for isolation milling of circuit boards, which works fabulously with the Genmitsu, I also use this set of V-groove bits, which includes all common geometries. These can also be used to engrave signs made of aluminum, brass or acrylic, for example to label front panels or create illuminated signs.

Dust extraction for the router
Milling produces dust. Materials like MDF or also softwood like spruce are really nasty. The small 3 mm bits always produce sawdust and no real chips. Without proper dust extraction, you not only have dust everywhere in the room, but also in your lungs.
To avoid this, I’ve acquired the following accessories for the CNC router:
Genmitsu CNC dust shoe. This dust shoe is available for all common spindle diameters. For my air-cooled Vevor 1.5 kW spindle and the Makita RT0702 router , the 65/69 mm model fits perfectly. However, the dust shoe is also available for other spindle diameters. For the included 400 watt spindle of the router, the 52 mm version fits.
For bit changes and Z-height adjustment, the lower part of the dust shoe can be removed very easily and without tools, as it is held magnetically.

Another advantage of such a dust shoe is that the milling path is cleared of dust and the air-cooled spindle is additionally cooled somewhat by the airflow.
The extraction itself is handled by the Scheppach DC100 extraction system. This is affordable, has enormous suction power and various adapters for the 100 mm extraction hose are also included. The noise level of the extraction is acceptable and is drowned out by the noise of the actual milling.
However, I didn’t connect the extraction directly to the dust shoe, but go through a cyclone separator that has been in my workshop for some time and that I also use as an ash vacuum for our fireplace. Mounted on a sheet metal drum, a so-called hobbock, the separator retains almost all of the dust.
To prevent the vacuum from crushing the drum if the suction hose becomes clogged, I strongly recommend such a vacuum relief valve. I had designed and 3D-printed mine myself at the time. In the meantime, however, you can buy it cheaply and easily.
Even after many milling operations, only a hint of very fine dust arrived in the Scheppach extraction system. The cyclone separator felt like it retained over 99% of the dust. Such a separator is also perfect for power tools such as circular saws, routers or electric planers.

Other milling spindles
I now mainly mill with my air-cooled Vevor 1.5 kW spindle , which is perfectly dimensioned for the Genmitsu PROVerXL 4030 V2 CNC router . A feed rate of 1500 mm/min. at 3 - 4 mm depth of cut has proven ideal for me with plywood, MDF, screen printing plates, etc. With the Vevor spindle, end mills up to 6 mm can be used.
The air-cooled spindle has only become lukewarm at most so far and I’m glad I saved myself the effort of a water-cooled spindle.

For 8 mm bits, I use my Makita RT0702 router, or the cheaper and equally good clone from Katsu (which I have 2 of).
The Makita/Katsu router is particularly well suited for face mills, as there is also a good selection of different models here.
The problem with these routers, however, is that they are not designed for continuous operation and the motor brushes are quickly used up and one day the commutator is also worn and thus the motor is broken. However, the Katsu model is so affordable that this is bearable.
I also don’t think much of using a router motor like the popular and quite expensive AMB 1050 FME (formerly from Kress). This too, if you read some forum posts, is not really suitable for a CNC router and tends to give up the ghost.
That was an overview of accessories for the Genmitsu PROVerXL 4030 V2 CNC router (and not only for this one) that I use and have tested myself.
